Realizing the need and aspiration of distance education, Kathmandu University School of Education (KUSOED) has taken a pioneering step towards providing distance education through its online networking system with a mission to deliver latest technology through advance courses to the rural and urban people at an economic price yet not compromising with the quality of delivery.

1. For Two-Year M.Ed. : A bachelor degree in relevant field (e.g. B.Ed./B.Sc./B.A./PGDE or equivalent) from a recognized university with second class standing or minimum 2.5 CGPA. Minimum fifteen years of schooling is essential for enrollment in the program.
2. Entrance Test : Students applying for distance mode of study will have to attend an entrance test of 100 marks. A minimum score of 50% is mandatory to be qualified for the admission. Such entrance test will be conducted online. Access ID and secure password to attend the online entrance test will be forwarded to candidates email. There may be a short telephone interview for the successful candidates.

For One-Year M.Ed. : A graduate degree in relevant field(e.g. M.A./M.Sc. or equivalent) from a recognized university with second class standing(50%) or minimum 3.0 CGPA. Minimum sixteen years of schooling is essential for enrollment in the program.

For admission on PGDE, a bachelors degree in relevant field (e.g. B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. or equivalent)

Tribhuvan University, a pioneer university of Nepal is about to launch distance MEd‚ BEd courses very soon. Tribhuvan University, in co-ordination with National Centre for Educational Development (NCED), is going to offer three-year MEd course and five-year BEd course to school teachers through distance mode.
